JoNotify respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the JoNotify mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information such as email address (for login and authentication)
• Basic device information (device model, OS version)
• App usage statistics and crash reports
• Advertising related data from ad services
• Messages and group filter configurations — only if you choose to enable cloud backup (see Section 4). This is off by default.

2. Notification Access

JoNotify requires Notification Access permission in order to capture WhatsApp messages from selected Group chats.

This information is used only to provide app features such as message tracking, analytics, and summaries. Captured messages are stored locally on your device by default and are not sold or shared with third parties.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain the app's core features
• Enable login and account authentication
• Provide analytics and AI message summaries
• Improve performance and fix bugs
• Prevent abuse or misuse of the service
• Sync messages and group filters across devices — only if you have opted in to cloud backup

4. Data Storage & Backup

4a. Local Storage (Default)

By default, all messages and group filter configurations captured by JoNotify are stored locally on your device only. No backup is performed and no message data is transmitted to any server unless you explicitly enable the backup feature described below.

4b. Optional Cloud Backup

JoNotify offers an opt-in cloud backup feature powered by Google Firebase, a secure cloud service operated by Google. This feature allows your messages and group filter configurations to be backed up and accessible across multiple devices.

Cloud backup is turned off by default. You can enable or disable it at any time from within the app's settings. If you choose not to enable backup, your data remains solely on your device and is never uploaded to any server.

When backup is enabled, your messages and group filter configurations are not shared with any external or third-party servers or databases beyond Google Firebase. See Section 5 for more information on how Firebase operates.

4c. Your Choice

You are in full control of how your data is handled. You may:

• Keep all data local and never enable backup
• Enable backup to sync across devices
• Disable backup at any time to stop future uploads
• Delete your backed-up data by contacting us or through the app

5. Third-Party Services

JoNotify uses trusted third-party services to operate the app, including:

• Google Firebase (used only when cloud backup is enabled by the user)
• Google AdMob (advertising)
• Google Play Services

These services may collect information according to their own privacy policies.

6. User Control

You can revoke permissions, disable notifications, toggle cloud backup on or off, or uninstall the app at any time through your device settings or within the app.

7. Children's Privacy

JoNotify is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Fraud Warning

JoNotify is completely free to use. We do not charge users any fees, and we will never request payment through any external channel, website, or individual.

If you are ever contacted by anyone — through any platform or medium — claiming to represent JoNotify and requesting payment, this is a scam. Do not send money to any such source.

JoNotify is not responsible or accountable for any financial loss, fraud, or other harm resulting from interactions with third parties falsely claiming to be affiliated with JoNotify.

JoNotify is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC. All use of WhatsApp-related features is subject to WhatsApp's own terms and policies.
